Your suitability for the position and the ability to fulfil the aforementioned qualities will be assessed through your MUN experience, your responses to the questions, your personal statement and the recommendation letter from your MUN advisor.

Application Process:

1. Student Officer Application Form

The Student Officer Application Form requests you to provide us with your contact details, previous MUN experience and the positions you are applying to in order of priority. You can access it here.

2. Responses to the Questions in the Application Form

The Student Officer Application Form further requests you to answer its questions and write a personal statement. Your responses should be elaborating on your motivation and suitability for the Student Officer position. You should also include what the conference as a whole would benefit from you and the specialties that distinguish you from the other candidates. While responding to the questions and developing your personal statement, please include your awareness on the responsibilities of an ideal Student Officer.  Student Officers’ roles in contributing to the smooth running of the conference are such as but not limited to supervising, preparing and motivating the delegates, stimulating productivity in the conference and maintaining order in the forums; which require sacrifice and hard work through research on topics, knowledge on UN, chairing experience and ability, arriving earlier and leaving later for the briefings. Please bear in mind that RCIMUN is a conference with high expectancies and that it receives a considerable number of applications.

3. Additional Documents

If you would like to share any MUN-related document such as resolutions or research reports with us, you may attach it to the application form. Please be aware that this step is optional.
As you complete the first 3 steps, you can submit your Student Officer Application Form.

4. Recommendation Letter from MUN Advisor

In order to complete the Student Officer Application you should ask your MUN advisor to submit a recommendation letter. The letter should be submitted through the Advisor Recommendation Form, which can be found in Forms. The letter should include your adequacy for the position you are applying to, and the ranking of the applicants in order of suitability if there are multiple applicants from one school. Please be aware that the applicant should not be involved in the process of the recommendation preparation and that it should only consist of the thoughts of the advisor.

The Student Officer Application is complete after submitting the Student Officer Application Form and the Recommendation Letter from your MUN advisor. You can access the Teacher Recommendation Form from here.
