PRESS MEMBER APPLICATION

The official newspaper of RCIMUN, MUNIQUE, is published daily during the conference reporting on activities varying from the committee sessions to the opening dinner. MUNIQUE is a perfect opportunity for participants to learn about different aspects of the conference therefore it has been an important part of RCIMUN for the past 4 years. It has a history of successful issues and this year as RCIMUN we are looking for attentive press members to maintain this high standard.

To submit an application, follow the steps below before the deadline. No late submissions will be accepted since punctuality is an essential quality a press member should have.

1. Fill out the online “MUNIQUE Press Member Application Form”

Click the link below the access the form. Please fill in all the information required since incomplete forms will not be accepted. To apply for more than one position, you need to fill separate forms. You can access it here.

2. Send a work sample depending on the position you are applying for

A sample work needs to be added to the application. Photographers are required to send 3 photographs appropriate that will reflect their photographing abilities. We require journalists to send a sample of their own writing that will mirror their writing style and abilities. Prospective Layout Editors will be contacted personally via e-mail for sample works; which will be examined to determine whether they are qualified for the position. We encourage all applicants to submit their best pieces.

3. Write a Personal Essay on the online Application Form

At this part of the application you will need to introduce yourself as a journalist/photographer and list your experiences (all MUNIQUE applicants have to write this essay; this will be the second writing that the prospective Journalists are submitting). In your essay you need to elaborate on your skills and experiences depending on the position you’re applying for relating them to Model United Nations as much as possible since MUN knowledge will be really helpful for journalists during the conference. In addition to that you may refer to your abilities to work in a team, your personal qualities, working skills that will qualify you as a press member or your particular interest in participating in RCIMUN. Personal essays are one of the most important parts of applications therefore please pay great attention to your writing response while expressing how suitable you are for MUNIQUE.

Once you complete these 3 steps you can submit the MUNIQUE Press Member Application Form. Bear in mind that you have to submit them online as no faxes or regular mails will be accepted in accordance with RCIMUN’s green policy.

The results will be announced within two or three weeks after the deadline.
