Dear Delegates, Student Officers and Advisors,
I am Joy Wood and I'm honored to be co-chairing this year's Environmental Committee. I'm currently a senior at Baku International School in Azerbaijan. I have three citizenships - Canadian, American, and Czech, and I've spent most of my life moving from country to country, including Russia, Israel, Mongolia, and America. My nomadic lifestyle introduced me to international politics, but it wasn't until I first attended RCIMUN that I actually fell in love with the topic. The conference helped me understand that even as a student I could begin developing skills necessary to succeed in politics. As a student officer, I aim to inspire delegates to be self-confident and become more involved in world affairs.
Besides MUN, I enjoy basketball, skiing, baking cupcakes, and playing Rockband. I'm currently studying Turkish, and I can't wait to practice it in Istanbul. I'm sure that RCIMUN 2012 will be both enjoyable and productive.
I look forward to working with you in April,
Joy Wood
