Dear delegates and honorable members of the RCIMUN Executive Board,

My name is Gürcan Gülersoy, and I will be having the honor to work as a co-chair of the
Environment Committee. I currently am a 10th grade student from Lycée Français Saint
Joseph d'Istanbul. RCIMUN 2012 will be my second RCIMUN, 3rd conference as a chair and
17th conference in total. I have started participating in MUN activities when I was in 6th grade
and I'm also involved in a couple of MUN conferences in French. During my MUN carreer I
also attended to models of the International Court of Justice, which I also enjoy a lot to be a
part of.

During my free time I like doing sports, playing football or basketball, I love sailing and I
spend all of my summer on the sea. I adore summer and I prefer summer sports to winter
sports, I enjoy so much being on the water.

The natural world, as it exists, every forest, every lake, every mountain, or the environment
as we like to call it, is the home to us. That's why the environmental problems we currently
have, and the ones that we will be debating on, are the most important problems of our
time. In the Environment Committee of RCIMUN 2012, we will try to find solutions to
problems such as nuclear disasters or the effects of mining activities, to save our home. I
hope that we will be having constructive debates and great resolutions.
