Dear participants of RCIMUN 2012,

It is my honor to be serving as the President of the Historical Committee of RCIMUN 2012. With its unique topics, delegates and debate content, the Historical Committee (this year as a part of RCSA) has always been one of the most enjoyable committees of RCIMUN. I am sure this year, it will be even more exceptional.

I am currently a junior in Robert College and this the fourth year of my MUN career. I believe that with MUN, not only do we learn to write resolutions and make speeches, but we also get to see our world's current and past problems from a country's point of view, and perhaps take our first steps to creating a better future for our world. Moreover, we get to meet people from all around the world and spend quality time with them. RCIMUN 2012 is another chance for us to experience what MUN has to offer. This is going to be my fourth time chairing, and second time chairing in RCIMUN. I think over the years, I have grown with RCIMUN, first attending it as an admin, then as a delegate, a deputy chair and now a president chair. This year, for me, RCIMUN Historical Committee is going to be more special than ever, because I have spent many hours preparing the committee's content for our delegates.

To introduce myself more completely, I need to state that I am a complete literature nerd. I am planning on (hopefully) studying Literature abroad, and I enjoy reading and writing very much. I am an editor of Robert College Literary Magazine, and a writer and an editor of my school's quarterly newspaper. I also enjoy music in its every aspect. I love playing the piano and the accordion in my spare time. I can spend hours listening to my favorite bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Queen and the Beatles, or reading the books of my favorite Classic English Literature authors like Emily Bronte, Charles Dickens and contemporary authors like John Green and Neil Gaiman.

Being a delegate, especially in the Historical Committee is a challenging but special task. However, I am sure that with thorough research and preparation, and a right amount of self-confidence, there is nothing that you, the delegates, cannot overcome.

I sincerely hope that every single minute of RCIMUN 2012 will be fun and unforgettable for us all. I cannot wait to meet you all individually in April.
