Dear Delegates, Student Officers and Advisors,

My name is Ali Can Söylemezoğlu. I am a junior at Robert College of Istanbul and I am
seventeen years old. I have been doing MUN since my days as a freshman at Robert College. Since then I have attended eight conferences and RCIMUN 2012 will be my ninth conference. I've attended Harvard MUN twice, RCIMUN twice, MUNDP twice and THIMUN and BERMUN once each. I've chaired only once before in an MUNDP conference. In the remaining seven conferences I've attended, I was a delegate in the Security Council four times. So, you can say that I really am experienced with the proceedings of the Security Council. I hope RCIMUN will be a good conference debate-wise and I gain more experience as a chair. Apart from MUN, I am my school's Student Council's treasurer this year and I play the classic guitar. I plan to apply abroad next year for university but that's a whole different story. So, enough about those things, let me tell you all more about my interests. I enjoy watching and playing sports especially basketball and football.

I have to list Beşiktaş J.K. as a separate entity from sports as part of my interests because the Black and White colors are something I'm really passionate about. For those of you who don't know, Beşiktaş J.K. is a sports club in Istanbul which is well known for its football branch and crazy fans, which I'm proud to be a member of. I also enjoy mathematics to the extent that I do consider it a hobby along with science. I also enjoy reading books especially on philosophy, the classics of literature and biogarphies/autobiographies of people I admire. My favorite book is The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley. My favorite genre of music is rap music enjoy watching action/adventure and comedy films. I enjoy the James Bond series, Hangover and Horrible Bosses. However, my favorite movie is Invictus. With that said, keep well and see you in RCIMUN 2012!
